💰💰💰 STAT Health Raise $5.1M

STAT Health (Boston-based startup) recently secured $5.1M in a seed funding round through J2 Ventures, BonAngels Venture Partners, and a diverse group of angel investors, alongside grant funding from the U.S. Air Force (read below to find out why).

💻 What’s The Product?

In simple terms, it’s an in-ear wearable device that measures blood flow to the head. The device, named 'STAT', monitors symptoms such as dizziness, brain fog, headaches, fainting, and fatigue that occur upon standing, providing valuable insights for patients experiencing conditions like long Covid.

Furthermore, it uses a micro solar panel to charge it’s multi-day battery life and has been shown to prevent fainting minutes before it happens (hence the Air Force interest).

📚 What’s Their Story?

STAT was founded in 2020 by Daniel Lee and Paul Jin (the guys who invented Bose sleep buds).

The inception of STAT Health was inspired by a personal experience of Lee's father, who frequently fainted due to heart issues and ended up injuring himself severely. This incident prompted the founders to explore a solution to predict such episodes.

Fast forward to 2023, the startup has grown to roughly a dozen employees and raised $5.1M in seed funding. What makes STAT Health's wearable unique is its ability to predict fainting minutes before it occurs.

I wonder if we could save those fainting goats?

🔮 What’s Their Future Plans?

The company intends to use the newly raised funds to delve deeper into understanding symptoms that occur upon standing, such as dizziness, brain fog, headaches, fainting, and fatigue.

Further plans involve offering VIP early adopter perks, including early access and beta test opportunities, through their newly launched website. They're also taking pre-order reservation deposits, hinting at an imminent product launch.

I’m not an Air Force Pilot but I’d still love to get my hands on one of these!
